Taar , Iranian musical instrument تار

Taar is my very favorite Iranian musical instrument. the focus of the photo is not so good, i know. but its partly coz its kind of a self-portrait and partly coz.. well... im not good at photographing :)

I checked out the youtube site; I like this music a lot. And I think your photo is excellent; the soft focus and warm lighting adds to a sense of focus and anticipation as we await the first sounds.

What superb image treated any smooth, I love the dark hair and on the sepia color of the image that gives it an air of old. The hand on the instrument settings and strings are highlighted by the soft light that bathes the image. It is a beautiful image, so gentle and poetic, the notes come up to me.

What wonderful composition, light and tone! From the limited view I feel it resembles the Indian musical instrument that we call "Sitaar":) Great job Eros!

@Pavan Kaul: thank u Pavan :) its a bit different from sitaar. but they resemble alot in appearance. ive heard sitaar too. there are some works iraninas and indidans have done together and i really like some of those. one of them is a work of 'Hossein Kalhor' Iranian 'Kamaanche' player who has a great album with 'shojaa-at Hossein khaan' Indian Sitaar player. the name of the album is 'baaraan=rain' :)
